A Floating Cabin in the Forest

A floating cabin on a private lake in the Swedish forest, a canoe tied to the porch and a hot tub steaming under the pines. Two slow days off-grid, bookended by Stockholm — its old town, a bike tour through the islands, and one very good dinner before flying home.

A suggested itinerary

This is an example — every experience is designed exactly to your pace and the duration you want.

Day 1

Day one — Brussels to Boxholm

Morning flight to Stockholm. Train from the airport into the city, onward via Mjölby to Boxholm. A short taxi ride drops you at Sommarhagen as the light goes long.

Day 2

Day two — Into the woods

A 6 km walk through pine forest to a remote cabin. Cook your own dinner, paddle the private lake, sleep with the windows open.

Day 3

Day three — Canoe & picnic

A morning on your own water. A slow walk back to Sommarhagen with a long picnic in between. A small local loop before the hot tub.

Day 4

Day four — Stockholm

Train back to the capital. Early check-in at the Scandic, then an afternoon bike tour with Adventure Stockholm across the islands. Gourmet dinner at the hotel.

Day 5

Day five — Gamla Stan

Breakfast in the hotel. A morning wandering the old town's cobbled lanes. Flight home with SAS.
