Scotland
North Coast 500
White sand beaches, rugged mountains, hidden fishing villages and the slow theatre of the Scottish Highlands. A wood-panelled tower at the end of each day, a glass of something peaty, and the wildest stretch of road in Britain.
A suggested itinerary
This is an example — every experience is designed exactly to your pace and the duration you want.
Day 1
Day one — Inverness
Land in Inverness in the afternoon. A first walk along the river Ness, a look at the Castle, and dinner at Rocpool before the road begins.

Drive the wildest stretch of the route (≈ 130 km) up to Durness. Smoo Cave on the way. In the afternoon, the small ferry and minibus out to Cape Wrath — Britain's north-westerly tip. Night in a clifftop cottage above Sango Bay.
Day 4
Day four — Dunrobin & home
South along the east coast. A long lunch at Dunrobin, the fairytale castle by the sea. Dolphins at Chanonry Point in the late afternoon. Evening flight from Inverness.
